Narrovo ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use the Narrovo platform at narrovo.com (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, password (stored as a salted hash — we never store plaintext passwords), and author name or pen name.

Content You Create

We store the manuscripts, character profiles, scene outlines, notes, and other creative content you create within Narrovo. This content is yours and is stored solely to provide the Service to you.

AI Interaction Data

When you use AI-powered features (such as prose polishing, character development, or image generation), the relevant portions of your content are sent to third-party AI providers to process your request. We do not use your content to train AI models.

Usage Data

We automatically collect basic usage information such as pages visited, features used, and error logs. This data helps us improve the Service and diagnose technical issues.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or banking details. We receive only a confirmation of your subscription status and basic transaction metadata (plan type, billing period) from Stripe.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide the Service — Store your content, process AI requests, and deliver the features you use.
• Account Management — Authenticate your identity, manage your subscription, and send transactional emails (verification, password resets).
• Improve the Service — Analyze aggregate, anonymized usage patterns to prioritize features and fix bugs.
• Security — Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access to your account.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Narrovo:

• Microsoft Azure — Cloud hosting, database, and blob storage for your content and uploaded files.
• OpenAI — AI text generation and prose polishing features. Content sent to OpenAI is subject to their usage policies. OpenAI does not use API inputs to train their models.
• Anthropic — AI text generation features. Content sent to Anthropic is subject to their usage policies. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models.
• Stripe — Payment processing for subscriptions. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.
• Resend — Transactional email delivery (verification and password reset emails only).

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Microsoft Azure infrastructure in the United States. We use encryption in transit (TLS) and industry-standard security practices including hashed passwords, secure token management, and access controls. File uploads (such as cover images) are stored in private Azure Blob Storage with time-limited access URLs.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and content data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and content within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law or for legitimate fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

Narrovo does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies. We use browser local storage to maintain your authentication session (access and refresh tokens). No advertising or tracking technologies are employed.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data and content at any time through the Service.
• Export your manuscripts and content using the built-in export features.
• Correct your account information through your account settings.
• Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you may also have rights under the GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Children's Privacy

Narrovo is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
